Privacy & Data Protection Policy

The Fredericus Rex Malta Falconers (VO/1169) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and through our membership and educational activities. We process personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Maltese Data Protection Act (Chapter 586) together with subsidiary legislation.

01

What we collect

We collect only what we need: your name, email address, telephone number and stated area of interest when you apply for membership or volunteering; the content of any enquiry you send us; school or organisation details when a visit is booked; and basic technical information generated when your browser requests pages from this site.

02

Why we process it

Personal data is processed to answer your enquiry, administer membership, organise educational visits and heritage events, keep records of raptor rescue assistance, and meet our reporting duties as a registered voluntary organisation. Our lawful bases are consent, the performance of a membership agreement, our legitimate interests as a voluntary organisation, and legal obligation.

03

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. Data is shared only where necessary: with licensed veterinarians in the context of a rescued bird, with the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations where required by law, and with the providers of the administrative tools we use, including Google Workspace for Nonprofits, under appropriate data-processing terms.

04

Retention

Enquiries are retained for up to twenty-four months. Membership records are retained for the duration of membership and for as long as afterwards as is required for statutory, financial and governance purposes. Records of raptor rescue assistance are retained as part of our conservation record.

05

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Write to us at the email or postal address published on this site and we will respond within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta.

06

Children

Educational activities involving minors are arranged through the school or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children, and photographs of pupils are only ever taken and used with the written consent of the school and guardians.

07
