Membership, money, and muscle.
The association runs on three things: a modest annual fee, donations that go straight to programmes, and several thousand volunteer hours a year. All three are welcome. None of them require you to own a boat.

Fees are set annually by the General Meeting and cover the operating year, 1 January to 31 December. A hardship waiver is available for any category on request to the office — no documentation, no questions.
Ways to give
Puerto Deportivo De La Kokkola ry is a non-profit registered association. Donations are applied in full to programme delivery and equipment; no part of any donation is distributed to members, board or officers. Fundraising is conducted in accordance with Finnish law, and the association's audited accounts show donation income and its application in full.
One-time gift
Any amount, by bank transfer to the association account or in person at the clubhouse. €40 buys a junior buoyancy aid; €250 keeps an Optimist afloat for a season; €1 200 refits a hull.
Recurring contribution
A standing order of €5–€50 a month is the single most useful thing a supporter can do. Predictable income lets us commit to instructors a year ahead instead of a month.
Equipment donation
Serviceable dinghies, outboards, buoyancy aids, VHF sets, tools, sails and rope are all accepted. We will collect within the Turku region. We will also say no honestly if something is beyond economic repair.
Corporate sponsorship
Local businesses sponsor a junior clinic, a cleanup landing point or a piece of safety equipment. Sponsorship is acknowledged publicly and does not confer any governance influence — the board's independence is a condition of every agreement.
Volunteer & partner with us
You do not need to sail. Last season our volunteers included two accountants, a nurse, a retired diesel mechanic, a graphic designer who redrew all our safety signage, and a fourteen-year-old who ran the sorting station at the spring sweep better than any adult has managed since.

- Monitoring volunteer — monthly transect surveys with the environmental officer
- Harbour maintenance — pontoons, moorings, winter cradles
- Clubhouse, catering and events
- Administration, bookkeeping support and translation (FI / SV / EN)
NGO & institutional partnership
We work with schools, municipal youth services, other registered associations, and Baltic environmental organisations. We are open to joint funding applications, shared training delivery, and data-sharing on shoreline monitoring. Written partnership proposals should go to the secretary at the address on the contact page; the board reviews partnership requests at its scheduled meetings.
